Repiping in the Treasure Valley
Many Treasure Valley homes built between the 1970s and 1990s have polybutylene (PB) pipe — the gray plastic pipe that was widely used before its failure rate became apparent. PB pipe degrades from the inside out, often showing no external signs until it fails suddenly. Homes from the same era may also have galvanized steel supply lines that have corroded to a fraction of their original diameter, causing low pressure and rust-colored water. If your home was built before 1995 and has never been repiped, it's worth having us take a look.

Most whole-home repipes take 2–4 days depending on the size of the home and the complexity of the plumbing. We work to minimize disruption and restore water service each day.
What type of pipe do you use for repiping?
We primarily use PEX (cross-linked polyethylene), which is flexible, durable, resistant to freezing, and easier to install than rigid copper. We can also install copper when preferred.
Will repiping require opening walls?
Some wall access is typically required. We work to minimize the number and size of openings and can advise on patching and repair options after the work is complete.
Is polybutylene pipe really a problem?
Yes. Polybutylene (PB) pipe was used widely from the 1970s through the 1990s and has a well-documented history of failure. If your home has gray PB pipe, replacement is strongly recommended.
